We are proud to be Brighton’s professional resident orchestra with a rich 100-year history of music-making across the city. Our ever-expanding outreach programme reflects our commitment to nurturing audiences of the future, developing fresh professional talent, and making live classical music more accessible to all.

Music Education

The orchestra's 2025-26 education programme reached over 700 students in workshops and masterclasses and welcomed hundreds of children to concerts on free or £1 tickets.

2026-27 activity will include masterclasses and side-by-side performances with our new Brighton Spring ensemble; songwriting workshops led by pop artist Bishi in local Sussex schools; and the return of Adriano Adewale, taking his popular 'Sounds of the Rainforest' session to even more primary schools.

Our professional training programme, Spring Forwards, supports exceptional musicians fresh from music college to play at Brighton Dome alongside our season professionals, gaining transformative orchestral experience, mentoring, and the chance to build crucial networks needed to succeed as freelance musicians.

Brighton Spring

Our brand-new chamber ensemble of brilliant young players from the Spring Forwards training scheme.

Brighton Spring partners with local schools to offer masterclasses and side-by-side rehearsals alongside each concert, expanding BPO's education reach and giving our young musicians hands-on experience as educators and creative leaders.
