Revolutionary classical superstar Nigel Kennedy stars in BPO’s season finale, playing two of his favourite composers: Beethoven and Jimi Hendrix.

Propelled into international stardom at an early age, Kennedy remains the bestselling classical violinist of all time. Mentored by Yehudi Menuhin and Isaac Stern, his virtuosity, pioneering style and mass appeal have brought fresh perspectives to music of all kinds, from jazz and klezmer to Baroque and improvisation. He reimagined the ground-breaking music of Jimi Hendrix in the recording The Kennedy Experience, performed here alongside Beethoven’s symphonic violin concerto: an unsurpassed work of joy, daring and exhilaration.

Nigel Kennedy’s collaborations have encompassed Sir Paul McCartney, Kate Bush, The Who, Robert Plant, John Lord, Jeff Beck and Ian Dury, and he’s won BRIT Awards, ECHO and Bambi awards in Germany and multiple Grammy nominations. Don’t miss what will be a fantastic evening of innovation and revolution.

‘I’m always improving and I want to get better and never hit a plateau. I find it an amazing adventure.’ – Nigel Kennedy
