Friend of the Phil David Willingham is Chairman of the Seaford Music Society and writes:
“Many of us remember with enormous pleasure the concert in December 2017, when Melvyn Tan joined the Brighton Phil to give us a riveting performance of Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major. Some of us were also lucky enough to attend the pre-concert interview with Louise Dumas, when Melvyn demonstrated that, besides being a world-class pianist, he is also an utterly charming person.
We now have an unmissable opportunity to listen to Melvyn again, as well as to meet him in person afterwards, when he plays in a Gala Concert for the Seaford Music Society, of which he is Patron.
The concert, Melvyn Tan and Friends, will be on Saturday 29 June at 7.30 pm, at St Leonard’s Church in Seaford. Melvyn will be joined by Ruth Rogers (violin) and Sebastian Comberti (cello), both of them principals in the London Mozart Players, to perform works by Beethoven, Schubert, Debussy and Ravel. Further details are on the Society’s website: www.seafordmusicsociety.com.
Tickets for the concert cost £32.50 (which includes a complimentary glass of wine or juice), but members of Seaford Music Society pay only £17.50, and full-time students just £15. They can be obtained in advance from Paul Moore, Treasurer of the Society, who can also supply information on membership of the Society. Paul can be contacted on (01323) 491601, at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 79 Clementine Avenue, Seaford, BN25 2UU.
Tickets will also be available at the door on the night, but only if they have not already all been sold!”
