Graham has been Principal Timpanist with the orchestra for around 12 years. Other orchestral experience includes RPO, Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, English National Ballet, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
He started playing percussion aged 11 and quickly progressed though the Surrey Youth orchestra and played in the National Youth Orchestra under Pierre Boulez. He studied at Trinity College of Music and has worked on a diverse range of projects including being part of a team of drummers at a rugby match and a season on a cruise ship. He is proud to say he was offered a year’s work in a circus band but turned it down.
He is delighted to have been a member of the Brighton Philharmonic for so long and hopes that he will continue to enjoy his view ‘the best seat in the house’ for many years to come if the fantastic woodwind section can continue to put up with him in their ears.
