Professor Robert Orledge is a Lewes-based ‘creative musicologist’, completing unfinished theatrical and other projects of Claude Debussy. Sérénade pour violon et piano is adapted from a 12-bar sketch of a melody written by Debussy in the 1890s. Professor Orledge is also a composer in his own right and we are delighted that his new piano trio Le Jardin clos et merveilleux will have its first performance in our concert on Sunday 3 July, featuring Jeremy Young (piano), Daniel Bhattacharya (violin) and Peter Adams (cello).
