Pre-concert interviews
with Peter Back

Before every concert* you can join the BPO’s resident host and programme-note writer Peter Back as he interviews some of the musicians involved in that day’s concert.

Many of the season’s guest artists – soloists, conductors and composers – will be joining Peter onstage, giving you the chance to hear about their life and music in their own words.

Pre-concert interviews take place onstage in the Brighton Dome Concert Hall (Sundays 1.45-2.15pm, Saturday 6.30-7.00pm). Seating is unreserved (stalls only) and tickets are priced just £2.50.

Printed programmes will be provided free at every concert*, and available for download from the BPO website 48 hours before each concert.

Beethoven

Beethoven Symphonies: V - VII

When Beethoven was born in 1770 symphonies were short, lightweight pieces, usually comprising three movements of a few minutes each. By his death in 1827 he had transformed it into the single most important form of orchestral music, the ultimate statement of Romantic ideals into which composers poured their hearts and souls. The BPO's series of Beethoven Symphonies begun in 2007 continues into this season with his central, most famous symphonies:
