New Year's Eve wouldn't be the same without the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra's traditional Viennese Concert, hosted for the third time in the Brighton Dome Concert Hall by audience favourite Stephen Bell.

In addition to familiar classics such as the Blue Danube Waltz, Tritsch Tratsch Polka and Radetzky March this year's concert also features soprano Pamela Hay and virtuoso cimbalom player Juraj Helcmanovsky for the traditional Czardas and other songs and dances (a novelty in 19th-century Vienna, the cimbalom is a traditional gypsy instrument which looks the inside of a piano but is played with 'beaters' wielded by the player).

This afternoon of colourful orchestral showpieces, gypsy flair and glittering operetta is a great way to get your New Year's Eve celebrations off to a rousing start.
