Stephen Bell conductor
Peter Moore trombone
BBC Young Musician of the Year

Walton
Suite form Henry V [16']
Gordon Jacob
Trombone Concerto [16']
Dvorak
Symphony No 8  [34']

Stephen Bell, well know to Brighton audiences from appearances at New Year's Eve concerts, opens his first 2010 concert with a programme interwoven with traditional melodies. In Henry V, Walton uses French and English songs to flavour the action and Dvorak's eighth symphony is one of his sunniest works and contains many melodies of folk-like simplicity. It is a delight to welcome Peter Moore, the 2008 BBC Young Musician of the Year, to play the Gordon Jacob concerto.
