The Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra's 2008-09 season began with a programme of song and ends with an extravagance of dance! From the fiery Polovtsian Dances to the whirling ballet music for The Three-Cornered Hat, ending with possibly the most famous, most devastating of orchestral dances: Ravel's Boléro.

Two magical 'songs' for violins bring a little calm to the proceedings - Rachmaninov's Vocalise and Massenet's Méditation - and one of the world's finest organists, Thomas Trotter, makes his first appearance on the Brighton Dome's pipe organ in Poulenc's energetic neo-classical Organ Concerto.
