Sunday 19 November 2006 2.45pm
Brighton Dome Concert Hall

Beethoven
Overture 'Prometheus'

Schumann
Piano Concerto in A minor

Brahms
Symphony No.2 in D

Barry Wordsworth conductor
Lucy Parham piano

Beethoven's vigorous overture is imbued with the divine fire which Prometheus gave to mankind and - in the composer's own words - 'sharp shadows' fall across Brahms' second symphony.

Renowned for her interpretations of Schumann's piano music Lucy Parham returns to Brighton with the composer's only full-length concerto, a work for which her performances with Barry Wordsworth have received particular acclaim.
