Fantasy Overture Romeo & Juliet [19']
Rachmaninov
Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini [22']
Khachaturian
Adagio of Spartacus and Phrygia  [9']
Bernstein
Symphonic Dances from West Side Story  [22']

Unashamedly romantic music to celebrate Valentine's Day, the programme includes differing views of Romeo and Juliet from Russia and the USA, separated by a continent and a century. Alexei Grynyuk makes a welcome return to Brighton after the success of his Emperor concerto in 2008, and we have the treat of Barry returning to West Side Story - the scene of enormous triumph at the Proms a few seasons ago, and one of the most frequently requested and keenly anticipated BPO concert programmes for some time.
