THE BEETHOVEN SYMPHONIES: I - IV

Saturday 10 November 2007 7.30pm
Brighton Dome Concert Hall

Beethoven
Overture 'Coriolan'
Violin Concerto in D
Symphony No.3 in E flat 'Eroica'

Barry Wordsworth conductor
Chloë Hanslip violin

‘Likely to become the greatest violinist of her generation’ (Limelight, 2007), Chloë Hanslip brings a depth and warmth of tone to what is regarded by many as the greatest of all violin concertos.

At the centre of the BPO’s Beethoven series comes the extraordinary ‘Eroica’ symphony. One of the most intensely powerful of all symphonies its striding themes, heart-rending funeral march, blazing horn trio and rousing finale make it truly heroic.

This all-Beethoven concert opens with his short but powerful overture ‘Coriolan’, depicting the hero’s frustration and rage.

Tickets £7 - £24 (Click here to book online)
